Job description

Be(come) the Experience – Bring clarity to the numbers that drive us forward.

We are Kapten & Son. With over 250 Kaptens, we work every day to become Europe’s leading lifestyle brand. Our products accompany people through their everyday experiences – and you make sure our finance structures are as solid as the foundation we're building on.

Start: immediately

Your Kapten Experience includes

  • Owning invoice processing: You review incoming invoices for VAT compliance, record and code them accurately, and ensure a smooth, structured accounts payable workflow day in, day out.

  • Shaping our bookkeeping: You take ownership of ongoing accounting tasks, from creating journal entries and managing fixed asset accounting to forming provisions and accruals.

  • Supporting financial closings: You actively contribute to monthly and annual financial statements, reliably reconcile liabilities, and keep our figures clean and audit-ready.

  • Managing payment runs: You oversee timely payment processing, monitor open items, and ensure full transparency through consistent account reconciliation.

  • Driving process improvements: You proactively advance the development of our accounting processes, independently manage projects, and bring your hands-on mindset to shaping AI and automation solutions.

What's already in your bag

  • Completed commercial training, a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, ideally in Business Administration, Economics, Finance & Accounting, or a comparable field

  • 3–5 years of professional experience in bookkeeping or accounting

  • Confident, hands-on experience with DATEV Rechnungswesen

  • Analytical thinking, a sharp eye for detail, and a structured, precise way of working

  • A proactive attitude, a sense of ownership, and the drive to take on responsibility in a dynamic, growing team

  • Good German language skills and solid English proficiency, both written and spoken

What awaits you

  • Flexibility: Flexitime + two remote days per week

  • Workation: Up to two weeks a year from your favourite European location

  • Our HQ on the Rhine: A modern office with a barista, subsidised lunch, and a view of the water

  • Crew Love: Regular team events and creative workshops

  • Growth: Personal development opportunities and quarterly feedback sessions

  • Perks: Urban Sports Club, corporate benefits, and employee discounts

  • Volunteer Day: One paid day for your volunteering commitment

Ready to join the crew?

Being a Kapten by heart means being there for each other, acting with passion, and never losing sight of what matters, even in the day-to-day details of finance. If you're ready to actively shape our finance structures and make a real impact with your drive and expertise – Carolin looks forward to hearing from you.

Be the experience.
